Allegra without a prescription
Allegra, with the generic name of Fexofenadine, works against chemical histamines that are naturally occurring in the body.
Allegra is prescribed to control:
- Itchy or watering eyes;
- Other allergic symptoms;
- Runny nose;
Dosage adjustments or special monitoring may be required to patients with either heart, liver, or kidney disease if they are to undergo treatment with Allegra. It is therefore advised to have a talk with your doctor first before deciding to take Allegra.
Allegra belongs to a class of drugs called FDA Pregnancy Category C. Do not take Allegra if you are pregnant without consulting your doctor first as it is not known how it can affect an unborn child.
Breastfeeding mothers are also suggested to see their doctor before taking Allegra as it is not certain if it passes through breast milk.
Allegra is not approved for use by children below 6 years old, and for patients with allergic reactions to Fexofenadine.
Allegra Intake Guidelines
Take Allegra as directed by your physician. Normally it is taken twice a day, in the morning and in the evening. Each dose is taken with a full glass of water.
If there is any instruction in the label that appears unclear to you, ask your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist to explain it to you.
Allegra Missed Dose
Unless directed by your doctor, Allegra must not be double dosed. If you happen to miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember as long as it is not almost time for the next scheduled dose. Otherwise, skip missed dose and proceed with the next.
If symptoms of over dosage are suspected, consult your doctor for the proper medical action.
Allegra Side Effects

- Closing of the throat;
- Difficulty in breathing;
